Harry Styles Celebrates One Direction's Three Year Anniversary With Heartfelt Message

Harry Styles has marked the three year anniversary since One Direction were formed on The X Factor by letting his fans know how much he appreciates their support with a rather touching message on Twitter.

Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Harry shot to fame on The X Factor in 2010 when they auditioned for the competition as five solo artists, only to be put together as a group without realising they would become one of the most successful boy bands of all time.

While Louis celebrated the three years since he first auditioned for the ITV show earlier this month, Harry has marked the band's special occasion with a sweet message on Twitter in which he credited their fans for their achievements.

“3 years.. I honestly can't believe it. Thank you so much for everything, we're so lucky to have you. You keep making it more and more fun,” Harry tweeted this morning.

They may not have won The X Factor but the lads have released two albums, 'Up All Night' and 'Take Me Home,' the latter of which soared to number one and are currently on their first ever world tour, while also managing to score three chart-topping singles.

Fans are currently going wild over the band's latest release, 'Best Song Ever,' which will feature as the soundtrack for their upcoming 3D concert movie 'This Is Us.'

The music video for the single sees the boys transformed into alter-egos including a female secretary, choreographer and a pensioner.

Here's to another three years, Directioners! Check out the 'Best Song Ever' music video below...

One Direction may soon win the title of weirdest video ever for their latest track but they'll also be contending for oddest sound effect - thanks to ladies man Harry Styles.

The playful singers have each showed-off their quirky 'alter egos' in the new video for their modestly titled new track Best Song Ever, with Liam Payne camping it up as a dance choreographer and Zayn Malik flaunting his feminine side as a 'sexy' secretary.

Harry chose to embrace his inner geek and parade around in a dodgy brown ensemble complete with giant glasses - a far cry from his normal swoony self.

But when they're not dressed up as paunchy old businessmen (yes, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson we're talking about you) the boys usually have an army of fans screaming their names.

Single Harry is well known for making the ladies groan wherever he goes but now he's getting them to show their vocal love for the band on their new album.

Well, one lucky lady in particular - the maid.

The boys needed a 'female bedroom noise' for one of their tracks and naughty Harry managed to convince a lady working at the hotel where they were staying to take part.

He tells The Sun, "We needed a, you know, a groan on one of the songs. So I asked a lady at the hotel to record the 'Urgghhhhh!' She was nervous at first but soon got into the swing of it."

1D are currently driving fans wild all over America as part of their worldwide Take Me Home tour, and they have also been managing to slip in some recording time for the next album.

But the lads haven't been laying down tracks in a luxury recording studio - time constraints mean they've had to make do with makeshift set-ups in hotel rooms.

One Direction's Harry Styles Bans All Candy From Band's Tour Bus OnMission For 'Defined Beach Body'

One Direction's Harry Styles has taken his extreme dieting one step further putting a strict ban on all candy, cakes and sweets from the band's sugar-free tour bus aiming to get buffest body on the beach this summer.

Well at least it's all for a good cause but we can't imagine the rest of the band can be too happy about this! The 'What Makes You Beautiful' band are currently hitting the road in the States on the American leg of their gigantic 'Take Me Home' world tour and now Harry has told his band mates they will not be bringing any calorific (ie delicious!) sweet treats on board their bus.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper the group's fitness trainer Mark Jarvis revealed: ''He is keen to ditch all the cakes and sweets. His favourite is black forest gateau.''

The 19-year-old curly haired heart throb has apparently become totally obsessed with a new healthy ice cream called Wheyhey which cuts out all of the sugar to make a protein-heavy treat which has become a big favourite for athletes on a strict calorie controlled diet.

According to the X Factor giants' trainer the band are on a mission “to get defined beach bodies. Lots of protein is the best way for them to get in shape and build up muscle.

''Harry has heard about this new healthy ice cream and is really fascinated by it. He has requested boxes of it to be flown over as he has a real sweet tooth.''

Well if it means the guys look even hotter we're all for it!

This week One Direction release their new single 'Best Song Ever' following a week full of teasers over the past seven days and will première the video later today.

One Direction FINALLY premiere full video for new single Best Song Ever - watch

One Direction have FINALLY premiered the full video for new single Best Song Ever.

The cheeky 1D chaps have undergone some amazing transformations lately and last week each band member showed off their new looks by revealing the characters they play in the video.

But THE TIME HAS COME - you can now watch the video in full, which, lets face it, is pretty exciting stuff.

In the promo Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik play different characters including studio executives and choreographers who are assigned to work on their new video.

The single - the first off their highly anticipated third studio album - was number one in the iTunes charts for 61 countries within just 12 hours of being available to download.

For his video Best Song Ever video transformation Zayn underwent a drastic makeover to become sexy secretary Veronica.

The relatively shy Zayn wore a long black wig and blue blouse to portray the character who hands out drinks in the video.

Harry, meanwhile, was transformed in a marketing boss called Marcel.

The 19-year-old heart-throb, who is usually seen in trendy blazers, wore a tank top and a pair of nerdy glasses.

With the curly hair that helped make him a household name straightened and slicked back, he ended up looking like Sir Cliff Richard in his pomp.

Liam, also 19, was given the role of a choreographer named Leeroy. He had to wear a pink headband and blonde wig.

Louis, 21, became a record company executive called Johnny – and had to hide away his locks for a bald look.

Niall, 19, had to wear padding underneath his shirt to play rotund boss Harvey.

He was also given a fuzzy ginger beard by the band’s talented make-up artists.

Best Song Ever will be the first single released off the band’s third album, which is due out in the autumn. The song is also featured on the trailer for their movie, This Is Us, which is out on August 30.

A source close to the group said they chose the music industry theme because they like to keep their loyal fans entertained by doing something different.

The insider said: “The boys had a great time making the movie.

“They couldn’t believe how different they look. They can’t wait for their fans to see them looking like this, they think they will find it absolutely hilarious.

1D Zayn says he doesn’t think new single Best Song Ever is actually the best song ever

We kinda thought Zayn would keeping a low profile after he completely terrified the entire nation by dressing as the scariest looking girl we’ve ever seen. The girly getup made its debut on the set of new video Best Song Ever and we’re still getting over it.
We thought the guys were being rather cocky in the title of this new track, and to be honest we were totally OK with it, but Zayn spoke to On Demand to let the world know he doesn’t think it’s the best song ever at all. Instead Zayn explains that the new single is actually a complex feat of philosophical existentialism. He says: “It’s not actually our opinion of the song, that’s not why it’s called the Best Song Ever. It’s about the best song ever, you’re talking about a song that’s the best song ever…” Aaaah, a meaning within a meaning. Zayn, this is all a bit too deep for us.
But the hearthrob was a lot more self-assured about their upcoming film saying: “I’ve seen pretty much the final edit. It’s really good.” He’s also psyched for the premiere saying: “It’s going to be really crazy, we’ve been to a few premieres, but we’ve never been to a premiere of our own so it’s going to be massively exciting and we can’t wait to do it.”
Of course with all this stuff going on the boys’ fame is snowballing which means they grow increasingly worried about their bonkers fans who will undoubtedly hurling themselves at their hotel windows. But Zayn reckons they’re dogged enough to stage a full-on break in. He says: “The fans are still as wild as they ever were. Luckily they’ve not managed to get into our hotel yet. They’ll find their way in.”
Don’t worry Zayn, all you have to do is pop that costume on again. The only Direction those girls will be pursuing is the opposite one.

The Weekly Singles Review - One Direction, Professor Green & AlunaGeorge

One Direction - 'Best Song Ever'

The name of One Direction's new single was alwas going to be aksing for trouble, even though the Best Song Ever in question isn't actually referring to one of their own. Featuring a bridge that sounds a bit like Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" and a slightly rickier production which recalls McFly at their chart-dominating peak, originally might not be its strong point. But while the first taster from their upcoming third album was never going to live up to its title, it's still another massive pop juggernaut which suggests their winning streak isn't about to end any time soon.

Professor Green featuring Miles Kane - 'Are You Getting Enough?'

It would have been quite easy for Professor Green to team up with Emeli Sande again and score another obvious hit. So you have to admire him for taking something of a risk by hooking up with mod - rock revivalist Miles Kane and producing an aggresive and abrasive track that's the complete antithesis to 'Read All About It.' A heady whirlwind of blistering breakbeats, crunching rock guitars and snarling punk vocals, 'Are You Getting Enough' certainly cantains its fair share of thrills, but it could possibly be just a little too alienating for most of his fan base.

AlunaGeorge - 'You Know You Like It'

Originally released last year, the latest single from AlunaGeorge's upcoming album, 'Body Music', has been given another push and a swanky new video following the success of Disclosure collaboration 'White Nose' and their own Top 20 hit, 'Attracting Files.' An enchanting mix of 90s R&B and witch house, 'You Know You Like It' showcases Aluna Francis' kittenish tones in all their alluring glory, while George Reid's pitch-shifted production impressively manages to be both highly sensual and slight;y warped. Let's hope that more people pay attention second time round.

Diana Vickers - 'Cindrella'

Despite scoring both a number one single and album with her debut releases, Diana Vickers' subsewuent three year-absence implied that she'd been thrown on the same X-Factor 2008 finalist scrapheap as Eoghan Quigg and Laura White. However, now she's finally back with a glossy synth-pop take on the ultimate fairy tale. As always, her signature kooky and breathy vocals will no doubt divide opinion, but 'Cindrella' proves that her claims of being inspired by early Kylie and Madonna wasn't just hollow talk.

Nina Nesbitt - 'Way In The World'

Fast catching up to Amy MacDonald for the title of Scotland's brightest female folk-pop artist, Nina Nesbitt's third official single, 'Way In The World,' is arguably her most anthemic. Indeed, taken from the E.P. of the same name, its rousing sing-along chorus and foot-stomping rhythms sound tailor made for long summer nights and could well be the track to take her out of her mentor Ed Sheeran's shadow.

Jon O'Brien is a music and film obsessive from Wigan. His current favourite acts are Haim, AlunaGeorge, London Grammar, Disclosure and Jessie Ware. He has tried but he still doesn't really get the fuss about 'Blurred Lines' or 'I Love It'
