One Direction fans storm cinema at movie screening

One Direction fans storm cinema at movie screeningEveryone loves a little bit of One Direction but things went seriously out of hand when fans stormed into a Los Angeles cinema on Saturday to catch the boyband's new movie.

Police were called when devoted fans flocking to see the advance screening of the boys' upcoming documentary This Is Us got way too over-excited.

The film follows the boys on tour and hundreds of fans were turned away from The Grove's Pacific Theatres because of how popular the event was.

But when they found out there were empty seats in the auditorium, the furious 'Directioners' flooded the building to gain access.

The situation grew so bad that nervy staff were forced to call for police reinforcements.

Allysa Mae De Guzman, 16, who was one of the fans at the venue, tells the Los Angeles Times, "When I got inside, the red ropes that block the entrance to the theatre were on the floor.

"It was pretty scary because people were tripping on the floor and pushing and stuff like that."

Cinema-goer Lizette Van Patten adds, "(The fans) charged and went straight past the ticket takers for the doors of the actual theatre screaming, 'Let us in! Let us in!' It took about a half an hour before a police car came with two policemen in it.

"They started calming kids down and shoving them outside. I've been to plenty of premieres and have seen people go crazy over Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise, but nothing like this."

If nothing else has so far, this will undoubtedly show the boys how much their fans love them...

One Direction fever set to sweep Britain with release of This is Us, paramedics (literally) on standby

Cinemas are so worried about the reactions fans could have to the upcoming One Direction film This is Us that bigger chains are calling in paramedics to have on standby.

One Direction fever is about to hit Britain, you have been warned.

*stifles laugh*

It sounds ridiculous, but apparently is true.

The precautions come after fans got a little too excited at a 3D screening over in the US.

*serious faces on*

Police were called to a preview screening after waiting fans stampeded toward the cinema as the doors opened.
Fans had started queuing before 4am (!) for the free 10am screening, and staff were unable to stop hundreds rushing for the auditorium when the doors opened.

Eek.

Mum Lizette Van Patten said: “They charged and went straight past the ticket takers screaming, ‘Let us in! Let us in!’”

One Direction's new movie is out August 29.

“I’ve been to lots of premieres and seen people go crazy over Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise, but nothing like this. One Direction are like the Beatles of this generation.”

Allysa Mae De Guzman, 16, who was part of the stampede, said: “It was pretty scary because people were tripping on the floor and pushing.”

As a result, the UK is set to be extra cautious when the movie opens on August 29.

A source from one of the UK’s leading cinema chains says:

“They’re talking about paramedics too, because we had some girls who were shaking and crying so much they were hyperventilating.”

Something we like to call the Harry Styles effect.

“The management reckon this will roll out across the nation.”

Better safe than sorry we suppose.

This Is Us hits the UK on August 29.

One Direction set to be worth £60 million EACH, could you get anymore stinking rich if you tried?!

One Direction are set to be worth a whopping £60 million EACH after the release of their next album.

These boys are LOADED!

So to clarify, One Direction are ridiculously loaded.

Rich beyond their wildest dreams.

To put things into perspective, The Wanted are worth £1.2 million and JLS are worth around £3m.

Their pay rise is expected to come as a result of the boys taking a more hands on approach with the new album.

While their first two albums Up All Night and Take Me Home were largely produced by other musicians, the boys are writing more on their next release.

Writing credits means royalties which mean big, fat balances.

One Direction are in the mega bucks.

“The boys are loving their new role in the band. Before, when they first got together everything was done for them but they want to give their fans something different, something they have written themselves,” a source told British newspaper The Mirror.

“This means that when it comes to royalties, they will be absolutely minted. They are on target to be the wealthiest boyband around.”

Quite honestly, it makes our hangover heads hurt just trying to imagine that amount of cash.

You could pretty much buy anything.

We’d start off with a dozen Range Rovers and an island. Oh, and perhaps our very own Harry Styles lookalike.

Louis Tomlinson signs football club deal

As if being a pop star isn't good enough for Louis Tomlinson, the One Direction singer has a new career lined up - as a footballer!

The hunk has always been a fan of his hometown team Doncaster Rovers, and now they have signed the 21 year old up.

Louis will wear a Rovers top with the number 28 on the back throughout the 2013/14 season as he works for the club's development squad, and the star couldn't be more thrilled.

He says, "This has always been a childhood dream for me. I feel very honoured to have been asked to sign for Rovers."

A statement on the club's official website reads, "Louis has always been passionate about football and wanted to realise a dream of signing to his home town club where he once worked on match days."

Kind-hearted Louis will also donate the cash he has received to the town's Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.

He adds, "Being able to help both the club and the amazing charity Bluebell Wood is what it's all about."

Be still our beating hearts - could Louis be any more adorable? His girlfriend Eleanor Calder is one lucky lady!

Taylor Swift And Harry Styles' Failed Romance Won't Feature In One Direction Movie

Taylor Swift and Harry Styles' short lived romance might be one of the most high profile moments for the curly haired cutie but don't expect footage of the pair together to make it into One Direction's 3D movie This Is Us as according to director Morgan Spurlock there's no Swift action in the documentary set to hit screens next month.

'Haylor' dated for just 44 days at the end of 2012 and while they looked loved up before Christmas the teen dream romance was over after a bust up on holiday in the Carribean in January, according to Spurlock just before they started filming for the documentary.

Responsing to rumours Harry had asked for "any trace," of the romance to be erased from the final edit of the movie during a recent interview, he told Teen Vogue: "It gets frustrating for them at times, because suddenly stuff gets printed that isn't even true.

"I saw an article that said, 'Harry Styles demands Taylor Swift be taken out of the movie.' But by the time we started filming in January, they had already split up."

One Direction movie 'This Is Us' hits screens next month

It had been reported that the 19 year-old talked candidly about his ex in footage shot for the movie referring to her as a "pain in the a**".

“I haven’t met a girl yet who I’d want to even think of getting serious with,” the heartthrob reportedly said in the movie, according to The Daily Star.

“I think I’ve been unlucky in love so far. But then, I haven’t met anyone who’s made the Earth move for me.”

This Is Us is set to hit screens next month and promises to give a no holds bar look into the life of the biggest boyband on the planet.

Harry has been dating model Kara Rose Marshall, while Swift is said to be enjoying the single life despite being recently linked to close pal Ed Sheeran.

UK chart round-up: One Direction miss No1, but it's Diana Vickers and Professor Green who flop the most

Zayn Malik in Best Song Ever by One Direction

You kind of have to admire One Direction for releasing a single entitled 'Best Song Ever'. Whether it's provoking their fans to agree or their detractors to kick up an enraged fuss, it's certainly bound to get people talking - even if the lyrics do actually refer to another song rather than to itself. But anyway, it's the detractors who get the last laugh, as the track stalls at No2 in this week's list.

There's no shame in a No2 single, obviously - in fact, Professor Green would probably give his right arm for that kind of position (more on him later) - but, well, there's some childish fun to be had in noticing the Best Song Ever hitting the Second Best Chart Position, isn't there? No? Just me? Fine.

Anyhoo, No2 is actually an awesome start for the boys considering the song only had its radio début two days before its release, completely skipping the conventional two-month build-up campaign. Who knows how high they would have scaled if they'd held out for an extra couple of weeks?

Avicii, after scoring the best first-week numbers for any single so far this year last Sunday, enjoys another strong frame with 'Wake Me Up' and, in fact, the race wasn't even close. With another 155,000 sales this week, he outsold Zayn, Liam, Harry, Niall and Louis by two copies to one.

All the big new releases I got excited about last week have indisputably flopped. What's going on?! Diana Vickers is the one I'm perhaps most gutted about - as divisive as her distinctive yelp is, I'm of the belief that she is an almighty force of good in the pop music world, and the appearance of her comeback single 'Cinderella' way down at No76 is disappointing. Given its total lack of radio support, I wasn't expecting a platinum-selling mega-hit; but Top 40 at the very least would have been nice. The track, though not a commercially obvious single (is that a phrase?), is a great little gem, and hopefully her September-due album Music To Make The Boys Cry will fare a little better.

Above D-Vix is Nina Nesbitt - the latest recipient of the VEVO Lift treatment - whose lovely new ditty 'Way In The World' can only crawl as far as No55, despite edging inside the Top 40 in Wednesday's midweek update. And further down - surprisingly - is Professor Green, whose 'comeback' track 'Are You Getting Enough?' can only make it as far as an astonishing No93. NINETY-THREE! Who'd have thought it?! Much as I rate and respect the Prof, this track was perhaps a bit too left-field for the masses, and there'll now be a lot of pressure on his next single to put him back in the same sales league as 'Read All About It'.

Over on the album chart, X Factor runner-up Jahmene Douglas scores a début No1 with his covers album Love Never Fails. Over recent years, the confidence shown by record label bosses in the talent show's silver medalists seems to have waned a tad... since the platinum-selling arrivals of Olly Murs and Rebecca Ferguson we've had a hastily-assembled effort from Marcus Collins and now a collection of only covers by the adorable Douglas. Still, he's got a chart-topper regardless, and good for him. Whether or not he has serious industry staying power remains to be seen.

Selena Gomez scores the second-highest new entry with her first proper solo album Stars Dance, following three releases with band The Scene. The new collection, which was led last week by single 'Come And Get It' (which this week falls 6-10), was actually at No5 on Wednesday's midweek update, but sales clearly declined sharply in the second half of the frame, and it's a sub-Top 10 finish in the end. Still, it's her first appearance in the album Top 20 in the UK, and a great start to her proper post-Disney career. If we're pitting former House Of Mouse cohorts against each-other, it seems that - for the first time in our country - Demi Lovato has won. Her album Demi peaked at No6 (it's No86 now, 10 weeks after release) and single 'Heart Attack' at No3 (currently No30 after 11 weeks), meaning that - for now at least - she can hold the crown. But that's until Miley Cyrus unveils 'We Can't Stop' next month. I don't want to argue with those pre-order numbers.
